Guitars

"My main axe for the last eight years or so has been one of a pair of Marchione neck-thru solidbodys. I can’t say enough good things about either the instruments or working with the luthier, Stephen Marchione. I’m really able to play 'like myself' in ways I couldn’t on other instruments; I can get arch-toppy rhythm textures, slippery legato, great clean and overdrive sounds, all on the same axe. It sounds cliché, but I have a closet full of Gibsons collecting dust.

You can find out more about these guitars at Marchione.com. Also, Fine Guitar Consultants just contacted me about using clips from 'Know It? I Wrote It!' to demonstrate the neck-thru sound. Check them out at Fine Guitar Consultants.com." - PK

Amps

"I’m using silver Fenders modded by Harry Kolbe Soundsmith. The amps retain the classic Fender sound, but have clean an overdrive channels, each with its own separate reverb. (That’s really important to me!)

The one you hear on the record is a cut down Deluxe with a Kolbe 1X12” cabinet; I also have a Dual Showman Reverb head and a Deluxe combo.

Visit Soundsmith.com for more info, tell Harry and Eric I said hello." - PK

Effects

"I get my reverb and overdrive from the Kolbe amps; the rest of what you hear on the CD is from a couple of pedals, an Ibanez CS9 chorus, AD9 analog delay, and occasional touches of a VoodooLab MicroVibe.

To the right is one incarnation of what Tim Davis refers to as the
'personality board', but it's subject to change (sometimes even in the middle of a tune!)" - PK
